Bespoke Hand Made Furniture from the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
Welcome to my website. I design and make hand made bespoke furniture from my workshop in Bream, in the Forest of Dean. All my designs are original and hand made just for you.
2017 marks my 37th anniversary of making fine bespoke furniture across the Monmouth, Chepstow, Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire areas.
Click on the buttons at the top of this page to see all the website pages and on any of the pictures across the site, including the slideshow above, for full sized pictures and descriptions.
I do my best to guide you through the whole process of commissioning bespoke furniture and help whenever I can. The web pages cover just about every aspect of the business, so please read through them to get a better idea of what I could make for you. Contact details can be found on the Contact Us page.
For more details of the design process and how to get started with a commission, please have a look at the Design & Consultancy page. For more details about timber and the technical details of how furniture is made, etc., have a look at the Materials, Finishes & Prices page and to see pictures of my work, have a look at the Galleries.
There is my own bespoke kitchen for you to see if you visit the workshop. It has a mixture of hand-painted and ash timber doors, with granite and walnut worktops. There is a unique branchwork design across the ash doors, which can also be used on other types of furniture. It can be seen in the Kitchen Gallery..
Its about 10 years old now and has withstood large family gatherings and catering for a wedding of over 100 guests, so you will be able to see how well my work ages!
I have designed, made and fitted many large bespoke kitchens over the years, but as I am now part-retired, I am not making full kitchens any more, but use the display to demonstrate design ideas and construction methods.
Value for money. There is a lot of mass-market furniture available at very low prices, often made in distant counties where labour costs are a lot lower. But when you want something that shows your own unique style, fits into that awkward space, blends in with your home and will last indefinitely if you take care of it, then a piece of genuine bespoke furniture, will give you better value for money in the long run.
Bespoke means something that is made entirely to the customers brief, but too often companies make bespoke, or “designer” furniture that is no more than a few variations to a mass-produced product. Please read the note about bespoke prices on the Prices page.
Fitting furniture into older properties, with uneven wall and difficult spaces is my speciality.
Please have a look through the web pages and the Galleries to see what I could make for you. The Before & After Gallery is particularly interesting. Telephone and email details can be found on the Contact Us page.
New for 2017
This year I will be continuing to make the occasional bespoke piece of furniture and a limited amount of fitted furniture. I also regularly refurbish kitchens that I made 15 to 25 years ago, that are still going strong. They sometimes need a bit of TLC or modifications to suit the new owners requirments, or sometimes I need to replace the original cabinets that the previous owners took with them!
Please also see the “Fitted Furniture” heading on the Design & Consultancy page.
I will also be making another acoustic guitar. This fits in with my other great passion in life, which is music. Click on the Music button to see youtube videos, listen to tracks I've recorded and click on the the facebook link to see pictures of my first guitar.
If you visit the workshop, you can also visit my wife Micheles studio and see her range of bespoke Ceramics, including her new Teapot range. Have a look at her Ceramics Gallery.
The very last two of my “Branch Across the Moon” carved circular mirrors are still available and I wont be making anymore. They are excellent birthday, wedding or Christmas gifts.
